The DRV8353M is a 102V max 3-phase smart gate driver with current shunt amplifier and extended temperature

The DRV8353M family of devices are highly integrated AD8402ARU50 gate drivers for three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor applications. These applications include Field Oriented Control (FOC), sinusoidal current control, and trapezoidal current control of BLDC motors. These device variants offer optional integrated shunt amplifiers to support different motor control schemes, as well as buck regulators to power gate drivers or external controllers.

The DRV8353M uses a Smart Gate Drive (SGD) architecture to reduce the number of external components typically required for MOSFET slew rate control and protection circuits. The SGD architecture also optimizes dead time to prevent shoot-through conditions, provides flexibility to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) through MOSFET slew rate control, and protects against gate short-circuit conditions through a VGS monitor. A robust gate pull-down circuit helps prevent unwanted dV/dt parasitic gate turn-on events.

Various PWM control modes (6x, 3x, 1x and independent) are supported for simple interfacing with external controllers. These modes reduce the number of outputs required by the controller for the motor driver PWM control signal. This family of devices also includes a 1x PWM mode for simple sensed trapezoidal control of BLDC motors using an internal block commutation table.
